Climatically the optimal months are April through October.
Ports of entry: normally discussed when the hunt is
booked. Harare, Zimbabwe's capital, has an international
airport and is closer to the Sable Ranch. Pietersburg,
in South Africa is often used as it is close to the
Lowveld Ranch.
Health requirements: current theory regarding malaria
is that an antimalarial course be followed on a trip
to Africa, but please consult your GP or the CDC for
the recommended treatment.
Trophies: these are delivered to Harare for packing
and shipment.
Weapons: permits are issued at ports of entry into
Zimbabwe. .375 is the minimum calibre permissible for
elephant and buffalo hunting. We recommend a good supply
of ammunition.
To confirm a booking, a deposit of 50% of the daily
rate is required. Traveller's cheques and bank certified
cheques are preferable. Any travelling day to and from
concessions will be considered a half day. Any client
wishing to fly between areas is responsible for the
cost of the charter for himself, his professional hunter
and one skinner.
